Life Happens
I can't say that Kalee and I haven't had anything "cool" or "extraordinary" happen in the past few weeks. Life in itself is "cool" and "extraordinary". Kalee and I have been enjoying the comforts of good jobs, a nice home, and great family and friends. We truly have been blessed and recognize that everyday. We, as a couple, feel so lucky to be in a position that we are. We have good friends that are struggling to find jobs and be able to pay the bills. We ask ourselves why we have what we have, and we can only give thanks for what we have and try to give back to our Heavenly Father by serving his other children here on the earth.
A special day came last weekend, when Kalee's father Matt came to visit us. He may have thought that his main reason for coming was to bring a washer and dryer to our home that he wasn't using. We however, thought of the visit in a different way. We both truly and honestly enjoyed having him in our home and spending a few hours together. We were able to make him breakfast, as he got here pretty early Saturday morning. We then sat around talking and enjoying the company. I went and mowed the lawn at my office and picked up some wiring for the dryer as Kalee and Matt talked. Kalee commented on how she thoroughly enjoying sitting and talking with her dad. She has always had a special relationship with him, but now as Kari has passed away, that relationship has become even more special. We love Matt, and can feel his love for the both of us. That is a good feeling to have a father-in-law tell you he loves you.
Yes, Kalee is enjoying having a washer and dryer, and she told me yesterday that "having a washer and dryer has TRULY changed her life!". I had to laugh at that comment. It is nice however to not have to do laundry when I go over and mow my parents lawn each week. I forgot to get a picture of Matt and Kalee together. But I am sure pictures will come next week when Daniel and Jesse Mae come to visit. Kalee is very anxious to see them!
As I am finishing this post, we just received news that our brother-in-law, Kent, had a brother pass away yesterday from a heart attack. Leroy had just returned home from a camping trip with his family and wanted to "relax" from the pains in his chest. His wife who was in the pool with him, turned her back for a few seconds and found him laying face down in the water. He could not be revived. He had been checked at the hospital a few days before for pains in his chest and nothing showed in the tests. They have a son serving a mission in Japan, and another son was on a marching band trip in Ohio. The Nitta family is a very close nit group and certainly does a lot of philanthropic work for the church and BYU-Hawaii.
I had posted the title "life happens" before I wrote anything in the post.
Life. It is fragile. Don't be so in a hurry throughout your life that you can't slow down. Cherish it. Life is fragile.
