Luckily, most of my finals were all take home exams that allowed me to do them before the last day. However, I finished my Into to Coporate Finance test just a few minutes before midnight which was the deadline. I was able to put a movie together for Tyler and Mary's luncheon that had them answering questions to the likes of "how did you meet?" or "what is the best thing about Tyler or Mary" ect. It was a really fun movie, and I am really glad I was able to do it for them. I also put together the picture slide show for the reception that night, as well as rented and assembled the projector and projector screen from the college. It all turned out really well and I am glad I was able to take part in the wedding.
The morning after, which was a saturday, I took off to Seattle, WA with 3 buddies of mine Marc Lefever, Lincoln Reed, and Danny Jackson. We have all known each other for a while, but have never done any big adventures together. Well this was one to remember. We stayed with a friend that Marc and Danny had home taught the semester before, Robin Bell. She lives in Sammamish, which is east of Seattle.
Let me just say that Robin and her family are the BOMB! They treated us really well and totally spoiled us with food and amazing oppurtunities to have fun. We arrived to Sammamish saturday night, after being pulled over for speeding about 2 miles away from the house (what are the chances), which luckily we got off of. Saturday we went to church, where I randomly saw a friend from high school, Donivon Norton, who was also visiting the ward, trying to find a place to live in that area which is closer to where he works.
After church we chilled for a couple of hours, played with Bell's dog "Honey", then went to New Castle golf course, which is on top of a hill that over looks the entire valley. The course was really nice and was BEAUTIFUL.
These are the girls that we hung out with all week. This is Robin, in the green, and her sister Amanda.
And Robins other sister, Amelia in the yellow, their friend and fellow classmate of BYUI Lindsey Glausser on ther right with her sister on the far left.
After that we went to Snoqualmie falls, which also is a beautiful place.
We then went back to the house and had cake and ice cream, cause well... it was by birthday! The Bells gave us a hot breakfast, a tasty dinner, then cake and ice cream. It was awesome.
The next morning we woke up and went boating in Lake Sammamish. This like was very pretty, with amazing houses all around it. The best part was it wasn't Idaho lake cold, which means that you didn't loose your breath when you got it. We did some wake boarding, and some mean tubing. They have a tube that fits 4 people on it, and it was a blast. One time we all flipped over and I skimmed across the lake for a bit cause we were going so fast. It kinda hurt.
And even though I put on sun block and wore a shirt for a good portion of the day, I still got burnt to a crisp. They had to put aloe on my back the rest of the week. ha ha.
Ye Olde Curiosity Shop,
went on a ferry ride across the pugit sound,
went to lunch at Red Robin, looking over the water. Best of all, I put a french fry in my mouth and let a segull come and get it.
Ha ha. It was a really fun day.
Wednesday we stuck around Sammamish and did whatever came our way.
Apparently, swimming came our way, because we went three times that day. ha ha. Robin's family has a friend who has lived on a lake called Pine Lake forever. She is an older woman that can't do a lot. But she has a pretty cool set up. She has a dock in the water that is detachable and that has a small motor on it. They call it "Marge the Barge". In the morning we went out on Marge for a while and took Robins dog with us. The dog loved swimming from the dock to get a ball that we threw into the water and then back to the dock to shake off all the water on us.
In the afternoon, Robin went to sell jewlery that the makes at a farmers market with a friend named Lindsey Millet, who I actually home taught about two years ago at school. While they were selling, we went and did some work at the Seattle Temple. We pretty much over loaded their inititory with just 4 guys.
When we got back to the house, we had a few extra minutes until we were to help the girls take down their stuff, so we went back down to the lake and went swimming. We went and helped the girls take down, then on the way back to the house, we went swimming again. ha ha. It was awesome. The water was absouletly perfect. And the lake is BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, it was gorgeous.
Thursday we headed home, getting back to Rexburg the exact minute that I predicted we would about 8 hours previously. Thats right, I guessed the exact minute that we would reach the Rexburg city limits. Crazy, but I know I am that good. ha ha Best of all, we had a lot of inside jokes/quotes that we kept repeating over and over and over throughout the trip. We also had a stupid hick accent that we started on the drive up to Sammamish that continued throughout the whole trip. Even when I tried to stop using it to talk to some people on the ferry, I couldn't. I felt like an idiot.
I have been on some pretty fun road trips with the fella's, but this one is a rival to the best.
