Shortly after being hom from Seattle, I went to go help my best friend Cody and his family remodel their cabin, or their double-wide trailer that they are making to look like a cabin, in Drummond. They were talking about how Cody and his brother Marshall had to be to Salt Lake on tuesday morning so that Marshall could fly home and Cody the next day. However, their nephew River Eddins, was being baptised that same day in Driggs. Yes, they got permission to baptise him in the Teton River. Because of the baptism, no one wanted to drive those two down because they would miss the baptism. So I volunteered, and they took up the offer. So driving Cody's dad's car, we went down on tuesday morning, dropped Marshall off at the airport, then Cody and I went to go eat lunch. We hadn't been in the burger joint more than 5 minutes before Gary Gardner and his family walked in. No joke, probably 7 out of the last 10 times I have been to Salt Lake/Provo I have seen Gary and his wife in RANDOM places, like the mall, temple square, places to eat.
After eating, I took Cody to his sister-in-law's apartment where he picked up her car and went to an Outdoor Expo, trying to network and find a job.
I went down to Cabela's, bought some fly fishing gear, then continued down to Provo where I went to the BYU bookstore and bought this years official football t-shirt for myself, my parents, and a friend. I then went and briefly saw my grandma, who is always extremely happy to have visitors, then traveled back to Salt Lake. I went and picked up a friend named Jessica Smith, who I have been very good friends with for a long time. We went to dinner at a total yuppy place at the mouth of the canyons, which had really good food, and got to catch up on a lot of stuff.
I then traveled back and met up with Cody. He and I stayed at his sister-in-laws apartment, as she and her husband were at a family reunion in California that Cody was flying to the next day. Cody and I had a night out on the town. We went and found a taco wagon on state street, then went and got some ice cream, and stayed up watching "The Colony", a new TV show. He and I aren't really TV watches, as we are always doing something around the house or going on adventures. So it felt good to just sit around and watch TV for a couple of hours.
In the morning I went down to Highland, picked up my niece Haley, traveled to Margie's house, my other sister that lives in American Fork, and we went swimming at a sweet community pool. The lightening in the area caused the pool to shut down early, and went took off just in time, right before the rain POURED down. It was a really intense, hot summer storm. My sister Sarah came over, we chatted for a bit, and then I started home. I met up with a friend, Aleesa Carper, where we had lunch, and I delivered her skiis that I had been storing in our garage. I then traveled home and got back just before midnight. All the while, driving someone else's car and not paying anything for gas! ha ha, I am a total bum, but it was a fun little trip.
