We actually started the day at "Idaho Pizza Company" for Kalee's cousins birthday lunch. We were able to meet up with the birthday girl, Sarah, her parents and brother, both sets of grandparents, a couple of aunts, uncles and cousins and enjoy some pizza. It it very similar to Pizza Pie Cafe based out of Rexburg. When we got there Kalee was asking her grandpa, who has his business across the street, what the building used to be before a pizza place. He replied "North's Chuck Wagon". When I heard that, it clicked. I had gone to eat at this building multiple times as a young boy as we traveled to California to visit my grandparents. My dad has told Kalee and I multiple times about it. They would purposely go to the North's Chuck Wagon buffet when we got to Twin Falls, which was just before dark. Then all the kids would pile into the back and lay down and sleep throughout the night. It may have seemed simple and a bit silly, but just knowing that I came here to this building as a young boy with my family made it a little more special for me. They might have been using the same furniture back then as they are today...
After lunch, we headed out to Carey. We went to visit Kyle and Brittany and see the house that they are renting. Brittany loves to run her team horses, so they told us to bring our warm clothes and we would go for a ride. In this picture Kyle it talking about some of the horses and mules they have. Brittany's dad is a hunting outfitter, so he has over 60 head that he rotates from week to week.
This is the new wagon that Brittany's dad just had built last week for feeding. This time of year they usually have to use the sleigh, but the lack of snow is making them use wheels. Its a very nice wagon and very well built. Even some Amish parts on here!
Father/Son talk about animals. Kalee and I don't usually understand what they are saying.
This is one of two teams that Brittany now has. They bought a team of mules a couple of weeks ago. These horses here LOVE to work. Brittany is taking them to the wagon.
This is the new puppy that Kyle and Brittany used Christmas money to buy. Kyle named him Marty, after the zebra on the movie Madagascar. He is a pretty cute little dude. Kyle says this one better not get hit by a truck, as all the others have in the past, cause this is the first one that he paid money for.
Some of the horses and mules. They all came running in when we got there cause they thought they were going to get fed.
Some more of that father/son talk.
The team getting connected to the wagon.
The horses are itching to go!
This dog will get between two people who are sitting close on the straw and try to cuddle with them. He also likes to stay on the wagon and look out through this opening.
This doggy however, likes to walk on the ground, and enjoys walking under the wagon towards the back.
This is Kyle and Brittany's Christmas tree they cut down. I can't decide if its a poor couple's decorations, or a cowboy couple's decorations. Maybe it's just a happy cowboy couple's decorations :)
